ABOUT ME
Rupert Wachter studied under Prof. Hans-Dietrich Klaus in Detmold. His chamber music training was shaped primarily by Prof. Jost Michaels and the Amadeus Quartet.
Following engagements in Detmold and Recklinghausen, he became Principal Clarinetist of the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra.
He regularly performs as a guest with numerous orchestras, including the Bavarian State Orchestra in Munich, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He has performed under many renowned conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Christian Thielemann, and Andris Nelsons.
As a musician, he has traveled to Japan, China, the USA, South Africa, South America, and many European countries.

In 2023, the solo concerto "Adrift" composed for him by Matthew Rickets received its world premiere at the Elbphilharmonie with Kent Nagano and the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra.
